About Optivox
Optivox is an automatic cleanup and mastering tool for spoken-word audio: audiobooks, podcasts, voiceovers and video narration.
Why it exists
Recording is the enjoyable part. What follows is usually not: the same noise reduction, the same level balancing, the same loudness pass, file after file. Those steps are repetitive and technical, and they are the reason a lot of good recordings never get published sounding as good as they could.
Optivox exists to take that pass off your hands. You upload a recording, pick the mode that matches the work, and get back a finished WAV or MP3. Nothing to install and no settings to learn.
Who is behind it
I'm Oscar Losseff, the founder of Optivox: a podcast producer and audio engineer with a long-standing fascination with audio and clean-sounding spoken word.
Based on my experience working with spoken-word recordings and improving podcast audio manually, I began experimenting with smarter algorithms that could handle the repetitive technical parts of post-production automatically. Optivox grew from that idea: make clean, consistent spoken-word audio easier to achieve without needing to build a complicated plugin chain every time.
I write the production guides in the Optivox article library from a practical audio-engineering perspective. The aim is to explain what the technical numbers actually mean, what platforms ask for, what processing can realistically fix and what still needs a human decision.
How we think about automation
Optivox automates technical processing. It does not make editorial decisions. It will not choose a better take, fix a misread, change pacing or rewrite a performance. Those are your calls, and they should stay that way. What the tool handles is the mechanical part: noise, room sound, tonal balance, level differences between speakers, and the final mastering pass.
We also do not train models on your audio and do not clone voices. The detail is on the confidentiality page.
Where to start
- Audiobook mastering for narration and ACX-style delivery targets.
- Podcast mastering for episodes, interviews and remote recordings.
- Voiceover audio cleanup for client and commercial voice work.
